The Dashwerks parallel Vehicle Interface Component (pVIC™) helps you integrate your Carputer directly with your vehicle.  The pVIC can integrate with virtually any component of your vehicle - door locks, windows, sunroof, trunk release, etc. In our demonstration vehicles for example, we've integrated the pVIC with the car's doorlocks (both lock and unlock), windows (both up and down), and the trunk release. Any vehicle component that can be powered by an actuator, relay, or similar 12v signal connection can be operated using this controller.

• 8 separate relays for device control - Relays act similar to switches. Relays, however, can be controlled by an electronic signal. This makes them a perfect solution for integrating your vehicle with your carputer.
• 12v Power Input - The pVIC uses the your vehicle's standard 12 Volt Power Supply for input.
• 8 Indicator LEDs - These LEDs indicate the state of the relays in use. When illuminated, they show that a connection is being made between the 2 relay contacts.
• Parallel port connector - The parallel port connector is used to interface the controller with your Carputer.
• Easy Screw Terminal Interface - Screw terminals make it easy to connect devices to the pVIC.
• Software Drivers - Software support is provided for Windows 2000, XP, ME, 98 and Linux.

The pVIC™ is compatible with Windows XP, 2000, ME, 98 and Linux and MacOS X. Any Carputer that has a parallel (LPT) port can be used with the pVIC. 3rd Party software drivers for the Parallel Port are provided for Linux, Windows XP, and Windows 2000.
