Automotive Multimedia Interface Collaboration (AMI-C)
A global automotive industry organization dedicated to creating common requirements to enable vehicle manufacturers to take advantage of current developments in mobile information and entertainment systems.
 
 
Bluetooth wireless technology
Enables links between mobile computers, mobile phones, portable handheld devices, and connectivity to the Internet.
 
Controller area network (CAN)
A serial bus system that is well suited for networking "intelligent" devices and sensors and actuators within a system or sub-system.
 
FlexRay
A communication system that will support the needs of future in-car control applications.
 
Local interconnect network (LIN)
A new low-cost serial communication system intended to be used for distributed electronic systems in vehicles, which complements the existing portfolio of automotive multiplex networks.
 
IDB Forum
An independent, not-for-profit trade association that promotes the global integration of IDB networking into vehicles, consumer electronics, and automotive electronics. The forum's activities include technology and market development and demonstration and interfacing with the AMI-C. The forum's scope includes IDB-C, a 250-Kbps network based on CAN, and IDB-1394, an automotive grade version of IEEE-1394, under development by the Joint Automotive Working Group (AuWG), a partnership between the IDB Forum and the 1394 Trade Association.
 
MOST Cooperation

Osek-VDX
A group dedicated to creating an industry standard for an open-ended architecture for distributed control units in vehicles.

TTA-Group
A consortium of leading transportation companies that have found TTP to be the best in-vehicle data communication network and the most suitable technology for their emerging products.
